Glassing an Image Tutorial - Page Three
BEFORE WE START you might want to clear your command history and your clipboard. All these clicks and selections can take up a lot of space and if your temp file gets full your PSP will just shut down on you. You don't want to loose your work so do a FILE SAVE also.
Now we will finish off our image.
NOTE: my image does not have the words on it, but do not worry the words will go on your image in this first step. I was going to attempt to leave them in, but they font was too difficult to cut around.
First off add a layer, Either go to layer/add raster on the PSP menus. Or click on your layer tool box and click on the little image that looks like a piece of paper to add the layer. Right click on properties and change layer 1 to myback.
Promote the background layer to a layer - in the layer tool box right click on the background layer and move down and select promote to layer. Right click on properties in the box and type in girl where it says layer 2.
Move the newly promoted layer above the added layer (if you click on the layers in the tool box you can move them around.
The image to the left is our little lady with the background selected.
Be sure to EXPAND/FEATHER to get a really clean cut. Use the scissors and cut out the background.
Now go back into your layers control box and click on the the little eyeglass looking icon to the right of your girl layer, a red X will appear and you will no longer see the little girl on your PSP screen. We will now flood fill the myback layer with some light blues. I used #DFF1F9 and #92D1EE
and used a sunburst radient flood fill with selection of foreground/background. You can adjust the fill by clicking on the edit and moving the sliders.
When your flood fill is done. Apply the bladepro stainglass preset to it and then make the little girl layer visible again (go into the layers control box and click on the eyeglasses again.).
To make a mat around her I use a little trick that I discovered by accident, (I just love accidentally finding a way to do something)! ADD another layer and name it oval, we will use it only for selecting areas around the little girl and will delete it before we save the final image.
BE SURE YOU HAVE SELECTED YOUR OVAL LAYER AS THE ACTIVE LAYER.
Use the preset shapes tool, set to elipse, and draw an elipse that covers the girl.
Because it is on a separate layer you do not have to be too particular about it being centered.
You can move it after it fills if necessary.

Move your oval until it looks like the image to the left.
The four pointed arrow tool between the crop and selections tools can be used to move you oval around a little.
You can also move the layer under the little girl if that is easier for you.

Select the area outside of the oval on the oval layer.
Add another layer, call it matting, and make it the active layer.
(LEAVE THE AREA FROM THE OVAL SELECTED).
I decided to make my matting using two colors from the bows and roses.
I used colors #E2905A and #A21505 and did a sunburst radient fill of those colors.
Flood fill the selected area for your matting.

I then went into PSP effects/texture and used texture #42 on the area.
I didn't like how dark it was so I again used the retouch tool.
This time I used the lighten up setting on the tool and brushed around the matting to make it a color I liked.
We are now almost done. You will notice that the area to the left of the girl is wider than the one to the right.

Use the crop tool, I started in the upper right hand corner
and moved down and then to the left until I had what I thought was an even image all around, top and bottom equal, and left and right equal.
Not perfect but close enough.
You can fool around with it until you get it just the way you want.
Just hit the undo and recrop it.
NOW on to the frameing.
We are going to add a border, this cannot be down with layers and your layers will be merged.
So to preserve your work so far you might want to clear your command history and your clipboard. All these clicks and selections can take up a lot of space and if your temp file gets full your PSP will just shut down on you. You don't want to loose your work so do a FILE SAVE also.

To make a frame I used the darker orange color and added a border of about 12 pixels. Then applied the PSP effect innerbevel with the settings as shown.
Be sure to use the lighter orange in the setting box or your frame will really be dark.

I added a few sparkle tubes to finish her off.
