Creating Stained Glass Windows in Paint Shop Pro 7 - Page 3

We will now work on the kaleidoscope layer.
Turn off the other layers.
Use the magic wand to select a yellow area.
Now use the selections menu, modify, and select similar to get all the yellow areas selected.
Apply blade pro to the selected areas. Here I chose to apply gold shiny to the gold.

Use the magic wand to select a red area.
Now use the selections menu, modify, and select similar to get all the red areas selected.
Apply blade pro to the selected areas.
Here I chose to apply gold shiny to the red.
In our next step we will create the outer glass.
I find that linear gradiant fills and texture fills give the glass some added depth.
The image to the left shows the texture option buttons on the color pallette.
Click on the little triangle, and select the texture tile.
Now click on the texture button and a texture menu will appear, see image to the right.
Click on the scroll bar and move down until you find the mist.bmp. select it.
We now add the outer glass area.
Add a layer beneath the sphere layer.
Select the area outside your image,
Modify expand 1 pixel to avoid jaggie areas.
Flood fill the area with a color that is in your image,
I used red with a texture selection of mist.
Depending on the opacity setting in your flood fill tool box you may have to click more than once.
Leave the area selected.
Now we apply the PSP Mosaic Glass Effect to the image.
Select Effects on the top menu,
move down to Texture Effects,
and then select Mosaic Glass.

A menu box will open (see image to the right for settings).
Select the settings and click okay.
You can change the setting and alter the way your glass will look.
Experiment a little.
You will find settings that you like.
I personally don't like the sheerness of the glass closest to the gold ring.
To me it looks like something is missing in the image.
I added another layer,
beneath the mosaic glass layer
and flood filled it with the same red.
